Meet our dedicated team at Harrogate K9 Company! I’m Jack Smithson, the head trainer, and my partner, Maiya Joy, is our experienced dog walker. We bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to our work. Both Maiya and I are lifelong dog lovers with years of experience in dog training and care. We specialise in high-energy working breeds, providing tailored services to meet their unique needs. At HGK9CO, our commitment is to ensure every dog enjoys a happy, active, and well-rounded life.

Jack Smithson

Hi, I’m Jack Smithson, the head trainer at Harrogate K9 Company. My love for dogs started when I got my first dog, Nelson, at the age of 10. Nelson has been my loyal companion for the past 12 years, joining me on countless adventures and camping trips across the country. Recently, I welcomed Zeus, a German Shepherd, into my life. When I first took Zeus in, he was reactive and untrained, but with dedication and training, he has transformed into a well-behaved companion, ready to join Nelson and me on our explorations.

Maiya Joy

Hi, I’m Maiya Joy, the experienced dog walker at Harrogate K9 Company. My love for dogs began as a small child when my parents got our Boxer, Buster, to help me overcome my fear of big dogs. Buster quickly became my best friend and sparked my lifelong passion for dogs. Although Buster has sadly passed away, I now have a small Patterdale named Hunter. He’s quite naughty but has mastered every bit of his training perfectly. I use the place command with him everywhere we go, allowing him to join us at the pub or at friends' houses while behaving beautifully.
